“What day is it?” asked Pooh.
“It’s today,” squeaked Piglet.
“My favorite day,” said Pooh.”

Do you feel frazzled, overworked, overwhelmed, exhausted, wonder what the heck its all about? I have felt this many, many times and generally it just drains me. The reality is that when I am in this state, I am not living in the moment.
Some time ago I listened to the Power of Now, by Echartt Tolle and it completely resonated with every cell in my being! It jolted me and spoke to me on levels that I was mostly oblivious to (by the way I listened to the audio book as there was no way, in my mind and busy lifestyle, that I would have the time or energy to read the whole book, which looked a bit too long and intimating😊!!). Also its a lot easier to listen to Eckhart Tolle’s voice which quite frankly soothes the soul! I totally recommend this book. For me it made me aware of the mayhem going on in my mind on a continious basis! It made it clear to me that nearly all of us are always living out scenaria after scenario in our minds.!! Non stop chatter, noise, caos, clutter, you name it! We are thinking of what happened yesterday, 5 minutes ago, what’s on for tomorrow, what will we eat in 2 minutes, the house needs to be cleaned, wouldn’t it be great to have a cleaner, what time do the kids need to be picked up at, does the laundry pile ever end, etc., etc. None of these thoughts are ‘now’ thoughts. Bottom line we are forever in the past or in the future and rarely ever in the present, ‘The Now! This is detrimental to our emotional, mental, spiritual and physical health.
So what can we do about it? So how do you live in the Now? Is it boring? What’s so great about the Now anyhow? It’s not all that great at this moment? Our mind goest into overdrive, our egos are completely running the show and we are completely out of tune with our true selves and this is simply put, not good! To spend more time in the present moment is not particularily easy but it is extreemly simple all the same. It takes pactice and patience and the rewards are just magnificent in so many ways and on so many levels.
The first thing is awareness. Once we are aware of the constant barage of thoughts, many of which are unhealthy, damaging and even self sabotaging, only then can we even consider to make changes. We just STOP! Easier said than done? Maybe! But the benefits of doing it is life changing and so empowering! On the attached link I am going to give you 101 Easy Ways to introduce Presence into you daily life.
